Open-Source-Research on MLGS
This post is part of an open-source research project on MyLeadGenSecret (MLGS). I’m exploring 28 key questions to help beginners better understand the system, avoid common mistakes, and use MLGS more effectively. Whether you’re new or struggling to get results, this series offers honest insights, practical tips, and real-world strategies – no hype, no fluff.
When MLGS leads talk about their aspirations, they tend to use a common vocabulary of the MMO/bizop world – essentially buzzwords that paint the picture of financial freedom and flexibility
Some of the most typical words and phrases you’ll hear (or see in their searches and emails) include:
“Work from Home”
This is a classic phrase that almost defines the niche. These leads frequently say they want a “work from home” opportunity. It emphasizes the comfort and freedom of not commuting. It’s relatable and beginner-friendly (especially post-2020, many discovered working from home is possible). For them, working from home means more time with family and no boss looking over their shoulder. It’s such a key idea that high-open-rate emails often include it, since it immediately signals the benefit of location freedom.
“Be Your Own Boss / Quit Your 9–5”
The dream of quitting the day job is huge. They literally use phrases like “I want to quit my 9-5” or “be my own boss.” Being free of a boss is synonymous with ultimate freedom in their mind. Emails targeting this desire might say things like “Ready to be your own boss? Here’s how…” because it hits that emotional button. One guide notes “Beginners fantasize about this outcome” (having no boss) and that “Quit your 9–5… addresses the pain of a dull day job and the aspiration of freedom,” often grabbing attention from frustrated office workers. The language of “escape the 9–5 grind” or “ditch the cubicle” resonates strongly; it’s exactly how leads themselves describe their goal.
“Financial Freedom”
This phrase is basically the endgame they seek. “Financial freedom” means having enough money (usually through passive or semi-passive income) that work becomes optional. They talk about “achieving financial freedom” or being on the “road to financial freedom.” It’s an almost cliché term in this niche, but that’s because it encapsulates the dream so well. One source calls it “the ultimate goal for many in this niche” . It implies not just wealth, but security and choice – never having to worry about bills again (truly stress-free living). MLGS leads envision a life where their passive income covers all expenses. (They might also use terms like “financial independence” interchangeably.) Because it’s used so much, savvy marketers sometimes caution that readers are a bit desensitized to “financial freedom” talk – but the fact remains, this is the phrase the leads themselves use to describe their dream.
“Passive Income”
The idea of making money while you sleep is extremely appealing, and thus the term “passive income” is a staple in their vocabulary. MLGS leads love the notion of “set it up once and get paid over and over.” They dream of royalties, automated sales, or referral systems that keep paying without daily grind. They’ll say things like “I want to build passive income streams”. This term comes up a lot in emails (e.g. “build a passive income online”) because “who wouldn’t want passive income?”. It promises both money and time freedom. Many leads have tried active hustles (driving Uber, freelancing) and found those still trade time for money, so now they idealize passive income streams that free them from that trade-off. In short, passive income = freedom in their minds.
“Extra Income”
On the more modest side, a lot of leads simply talk about earning some “extra income”. This phrase feels attainable and honest, and indeed it’s effective because it doesn’t overhype – it just offers to supplement what they already make . Many MLGS leads would be thrilled to get a reliable extra few hundred bucks a month. They often respond well to language like “earn some extra income from home” , since it implies a simpler, low-risk path (not quit your job tomorrow, but ease financial strain with a side income). It’s the kind of phrase they use when explaining to their spouse or friend what they’re trying to do: “I’m looking for a way to make some extra income online.” So copy that mirrors that wording feels relatable to them.
“Laptop Lifestyle”
This catchy term encapsulates the dream lifestyle in two words. The “laptop lifestyle” means being able to work from anywhere in the world with just a laptop and internet. Leads picture themselves sipping coffee on a beach or exploring Europe, while their online business keeps making money. It’s a romantic, millennial-tinged vision of freedom. The term is a bit jargon-y, but it’s “widely understood in the MMO community” . Beginners especially love it because it represents the cool factor of online entrepreneurship. They literally use this term in conversation or on forums: “I’m after that laptop lifestyle.” It promises travel and adventure combined with making money. Emails might say “Live the laptop lifestyle” to tap into that vision . For MLGS leads, this phrase summarizes why they’re doing all this – so they aren’t chained to any one location or schedule.
“Earn $___ per [Timeframe]”
Aside from conceptual phrases, specific income claims are part of their language of aspiration. They’ll say things like “I’d love to earn $5K a month” or “If I could just make $100 a day, that’d be amazing.” Using concrete numbers is how they quantify the dream. In subject lines and conversations, you’ll often see examples like “Earn $100 a day”, “Earn $5000 a month”, etc. These figures immediately communicate what they want. As noted earlier, those precise goals ($100/day, $X/month) are motivating targets for them . So the language of “earn [X amount] in [Y time]” is extremely common. It makes the abstract dream tangible. MLGS leads might literally Google “how to make $100 a day online” – that’s how prevalent that phrase is (there are “1 lakh+ searches a day” for such terms, reflecting huge interest). So any copy using their desired numbers (within believable range) will feel like it’s speaking their language.
Examples
To illustrate, here are a few example phrases or statements an MLGS lead might use to describe their ambitions:
- “I just want to work from home and spend more time with my kids.”
- “My goal is to achieve financial freedom in the next few years – no debt, no alarm clock, just living comfortably off my online business.”
- “If this goes well, I can finally quit my 9–5 job. I’m so tired of my boss; I want to be my own boss for once.”
- “I’m trying to build some passive income streams so I can have a stress-free life.”
- “Ultimate dream? Traveling and living the laptop lifestyle, making money from wherever I am.”
These phrases – work from home, be your own boss, quit the 9–5, extra income, passive income, financial freedom, laptop lifestyle, earn $X per month – form the lexicon of their aspirations . Virtually every piece of high-performing copy in this space touches on one or more of these, because that’s exactly what resonates with the leads. It’s literally the language they use when they lie in bed imagining the future or when they talk with like-minded friends in Facebook groups.
Importantly, this language is emotionally charged for them:
- “Quit my 9–5” isn’t just about money, it’s about escaping pain.
- “Freedom” and “flexibility” imply happiness, family time, health, all the good things.
- “Passive income” suggests smart and easy – money that doesn’t require grinding 8 hours a day.
- “Extra income” suggests relief – being able to afford things without worry.
- “Laptop lifestyle” suggests excitement and fulfillment.
Conclusion
When writing persuasive emails to MLGS leads, using their own dream phrases (and painting vivid pictures with them) helps grab attention and build rapport. It shows you get what they’re after. Just as crucial: sometimes grounding those phrases with specifics or credibility (since they’ve heard them a lot) – e.g. “your road to financial freedom starts with just 30 minutes a day” – can make them even more powerful .
(Quick note: The MLGS sales material itself uses many of these terms because they strike a chord. It says things like the system can help you “earn income, pay off debt, travel the world” – clearly invoking the laptop lifestyle and financial freedom. That’s a good indication of the language that converts, since it mirrors the leads’ desires.)
